Walking down 4th Ave with Becky and Matt. We are going to meet his girlfriend at a restaurant called "Burma Super Star" on Clement. We are so hungry tonight. So hungry that becky was eyeing a bag of warm leftovers sitting limply in the apartment doorway at Matt's place. It is colder than usual. Why did I forget my jacket?
Whatever, keep moving, it is spring, I should stop whining. He we go... dammit, long line tonight. Weak, and its the type of restaurant that you have to write your name down on a sheet. No real host with skills. Noone better snake us.
Anyway, the food is so going to be worth it and the place smells great. Judging by the amount of people, it tastes great too. Fucking cold out.
Alright, since it is going to be a while, we go check out the fish at this crazy convenience/flower/plant/fishtank and saltwater emporium place down the street. What the hell kind of store is this anyway? Cool, they have sharks. Ooooo, and jellies. neat
7 minutes later, Screw this store I want to make sure we don't miss our place. Hungry. We go back and meet Katie (Matt's girl). The restaurant is more crowded, and stinking delicious food smells. The smell of Pooti (Burmese something with potatoes and delicious sauce) and warm people inside. Fuck them it is cold.
Holy hell, 6 tables in front of us? Lets talk for a bit. 15 minutes, 20, 30, 1 hour and 30 minutes later. YOU BASTARDS GET YOUR CHECK. What the hell are those people sitting around looking at each other for. You are finished your food... LEAVE. oh god, I can't go anywhere else now, We have waited too long. The food is so good. I WANT IT.
Maybe I can say something to them... What is that? Pay Bitch! He has a snotty little face with crappy peach fuzz wannabe goatee. AHAHAH yeah laugh at the joke punk. Maybe if I press my tongue into the glass of the windowpane he will understand... nevermind, here comes the host whose job is to cross names off the list she didn't make.
Finally sit down 1 and a half hours later. I feel so hungry I could start eating my cold dead fist. Some food arrives... so worth it. Go to this place, just not on a weekend. Coconut cinnamon rice, Curry, Pooti, all is good and oh so sweet with a beer. I love fridays. All about Pooti with friends. I can't wait to come back. What was I complaining about again?

This was my weekend with my 11 year old daughter Ang. After driving to Oakville 30km to pick her up from school and fighting rush hour traffic to get back, I fell asleep on the couch around dinner time, only to be awakened by a "Dad when's supper anyway" I dashed to my small northend backyard and fired up the grill and mounted 2 huge paddies of president choice burgers on the fire...oh yeah..these babies were gonna be good!
27 minutes later Angeline and I were diggin hard on some super burgs complete with the necessary condiments..her ketchup ketchup and a dash of Ketchup...me lettuce mustard fresh tomatoe and some deadly hot sauce for fun...swallowed back with healthy doasaged of sunny d orange drink..sweet as hell! 30 minutes later I dragged my tire butt to the locale park to engage in some solid soccer drills and general running around. I was tired and felt like a 300 pound 8o year old turtle...later after Ang watched some lame Ashley kate and oLsen or whatever they are I settled into an awesome gem of a film "American Splendor:
a great film.....about comic art nerds and neutrotic behaviour....with a smooth jazzy soundtrack.
That movie kicked ass. For anyone who doesn't know.. Dan Malstrom is one of my uncles up in the great white north. He is an artist... booyah. By the way Dan, check out the new mcsweeneys issue on comics! http://www.mcsweeneys.net so great.

Jer, Isn't freaky how nice, pleasant common folk turn into the twisted, loitering demons from hell when your hungry?
I've been there. Here's what you do. If you can catch their attention, vigously pick your nose or reach in your pants and scratch your balls. Better yet, first scrtach the balls and then pick the nose. If you catch something, wipe it on the glass. Hopefully "Check please!" will follow and you got yourself "un Tableau"
Wash your hands before you eat.

the American Splendor film was a great insight into the interesting world of graphic novels.
The premise being there is no such thing as dull, boring uninteresting lives. To highlight and create artforms from and about our lives is what art is in any form. It is inspiring because if this guy Pekkar can make it there is hope for the rest of us!
while jeremie reenacted the little match girl, i definitely hit the gym on friday night. watched 45 minutes of "a few good men" b/c some treadmills are equipped with TVs. then rounded out the night by firing up the toaster oven and throwing some southern style chicken tenders on the glowing orange bulbs. i piled some jolly green giant green beans in the microwave and VOILA! a perfect ghetto-meal.
oh and i digested whilest watching a 48 hours special on "young hollywood" and unpacked the pots n pans my parents sent me. LA has made me so lame, it actually pains me.
Lost: my life, my personality and a decent salary.
Found: poverty and a constant need to complain.
Revelation: to leave the whiney bitch behind and get a new job.
sidenote: i also enjoyed "american splendor", moreso apon reflection than while actually watching it.

California and The great white north. The extremes in weather make sure we all invest half our annual salaries in all kinds of weather clothing, if you run make that "all of your salary" a dri fit long sleeve shirt is about $70
for a good one that inusulates and keeps the moisture away from the body..this,so you can run in - 0 temps which seems to be most of the year.
however we get great falls lots of colour and hot summers....sometimes. and sometimes all seasons in one day! so you have to have a variety of jackets, sweaters and winter coats with various boots gloves and the rest of it...
what me whine?
I think you should re-name this blog to "Jeremie's Bitchlog." Haha! Just kidding man. I usually dig around for your ranting articles. Gives me a really good laugh and makes me smile. :)
