Curiosa Ruled!

Kurt and I went to the Curiosa tour last night here in beautiful Atlanta, and the consensus is -go see it! A very strong line-up that did not disappoint. IT topped out at over 6 hours of music fun! We saw - Mogwai, Auf Der Maur, The Rapture, Muse, Interpol, Thursday, and The Cure.

My least favorite was probably Thursday, which Kurt is now determined to like. There's something about the singer's voice that annoys me - it is so overwrought with emotion to the point of almost becoming a whine. But I definitely give them props for energy in the live performance.

My other favorite things to do at this festival:
1) Look for the best goth couple (they usually look like they are going to prom)
2) Look for the best hair (both color and style are important)
3) Best tattoo - though there were many impressive showings, I think the guy with "dumb" largely tattoed across the back of his head in a lowercase serif face took the cake.

The Cure was great . They even went on past curfew for a second encore!

The only thing that sucked was trying to get out of the damn parking lot after the show. They should really try to hurry up on that teleportation device idea.

So in closing - if they are coming to a venue near you - go! You won't be disappointed!

Hey I heard about that crazy summer tour...

I am too old for those festvals now though, especially one with goths. We saw mogwai up here at a show last year, I love that damned band. The only band that actually scared me when I listened to them live (quiet quiet quiet METAL!) i jumped pretty good.

Auf Der Mar sounded great when I saw there video, but seems like it could potentially be a one hit wonder. Were they good? I want more stuff from her.

Uhh.. interpol rules and kurt... kurt.... thursday sucks ass

I'm back, tho no one will read this anyway, cuz I'm too late.

Funny, jer. You were the one person who I thought would actually dig Thursday...

Anyway, If you saw the push/pull, stop/start tension exemplified by that singer, you'd be impressed. One second he's in the air, the next, collapsed on the floor. His voice is the sound of a soul being ripped apart right in front of your eyes. Though Liz likes to say he sounds like he's in high school drama club.

personally, by all these descriptions, i'm not sure i want to see any of those bands. rampant jumping, days of the week and tortured souls... however if i was presented a ticket and a camera, i would definitely go, not only to rock out, but to document the freaks (kurt and liz obviously exempt from this statement).

William Morris reps Auf Der Maur...i'm not sure i've ever heard their stuff though. i'll have to snag a CD and sample the talent.

kurt i don't know what yer talkin about. i definitely go back weeks to see if anything else has been posted. no need to stop posting 'cause you're a day late. blog on dear one, blog on.

Thanks for positive reinforcement, M. But I'd have to say I'd be more inclined to blog if I had a friggin' portrait already!!!!!! Jeez.

Though the skull might have been appropriate for the Cure show.

viagra Does a man of sense run after every silly tale of hobgoblins or fairies, and canvass particularly the evidence? I never knew anyone, that examined and deliberated about nonsense who did not believe it before the end of his enquiries.
