Well, Monday is almost over and it has been pretty lame without brett and loren here.
They were two of the closest guys to me at work and they were laid off on friday. Anyway, I thought I would be totally cool with it. Everytime something like that has ever happened to me it has turned out for the better.. career wise. However, it always ends with you not being able to sit next to your buds anymore - ironically that is the worst part about it. (i.e. rocco, joe jackman, mark lipsmeyer, mark wells, willie williams, aladino debert, esdras, erik, leigh, freaking jon marc, jerry weil, dan kramer, dan dimian, etc etc etc etc)
I liken it to campbells soup deciding they don't want to make chicken noodle anymore. You really just took for granted it would always be there, ready to help you out when you feel like crap, it is suddenly gone! Now what the hell are you going to do... you can't eat campbells soup no mo!
Where was this going? I don't know... change sucks and it is quiet over here.

But when I was confronted by all my soon-to-be ex-co-workers, it was pretty rough. Realizing that Magro and other friends would not be right on the other side of the room was devastating.
I can't imagine how that must effect "morale" within the office either.
I'm not sure I told anyone this, but the first thing I did when I was let go, was go buy porn. It was strangely satisfying.
Anyway, going to see modern art rather than being at work doesn't sound like a bad deal.
Can you tell us how they let you go? Quick and painless? Long and torturous? Did your boss do it? Did they escort you out? I want the down and dirty details.

J-dog. I know man. I sit here in front of my computer and I feel all alone. No one to turn around and chat with...even with IM, I usually turned around to see if you were even at your desk or if you were in the game before IM'm you...now I'm just affriad I'm gonna screw up whatever it is your working on if I IM ya, so I don't. sad sad. Animation critiques go through e-mails now, no more of that personal 'oh maybe he should do this, acting it out in front of me kinda thing' AND who's gonna listen to me when I go "mah...stop talking like what copper..muah" no one.........no one. snif snif.
But loren is right...they will hire some new people and you'll be fine. Just don't forget about us.

not exactly what a wide-eyed 20 year old wanted to hear. so far, no firings, but i'm keeping hope alive. my point: i can't really relate, and i don't buy porn, so i'm no help there either. and well i don't have IM at work, nor do i sit near other people. maybe i should get fired. shit, maybe i've BEEN fired and i'm the dude from office space. i need to check my bank account.
it's cruel to give jeremie the false hope that more cool people will be hired. you must believe that you are the funniest, coolest people who ever walked those halls. no one else can steal your rad thunder.
change definitely sucks.
