I can't wait for thanksgiving next week. It is a totally underappreciated holiday.
A big turkey fully of sleepy hormone - How can food get better than that? I mean, a big ass burrito can put me to sleep, but it isn't designed to do that.
We are hanging out with our friend Rocco this year, which has become a sort of mini-tradition, or dysfunctional family holiday for us... since our actual families are scattered across the globe and celebrate thanksgiving at different times (Canadians)
Last year I bloated myself uncomfortably for 3 days straight. I hope to have expanded my stomach through rounds of intense San Jose Taqueria Burrito training regimine this year to avoid discomfort. Beer will numb the pain however, if all else fails.
Anyways, I just wanted to enthusiastically post how grand I think the holiday is, mmm mmm mmm.
Posted by jeremie at November 18, 2004 11:10 AMhahaha, "designed to do that." i dunno, i'm excited, but i miss my mom's turkey day... mainly b/c we have roasted chicken, no nasto turkey (please refer to "stupid turkey" in the april blog archives)... and i love her mashed tatos (still lumpy), and gravy and tammy's apple pie and rolls and zucchini with lots of parmesan cheese.
but it'll still be fun at rocco's...with crazy max and lots of food and no frost on the ground. i'm not excited about overeating, b/c i already feel like i should be on nbc's "the biggest loser" right now. ugh.
hahahaah, oh wait, i just remembered last year. jeremie was HILARIOUS, i have a photo of how miserable he was. he couldn't move or speak...and then max (the dog) ate a whole basket of cornbread and was farting out a scent quite reminiscent of an exploded sewage system. ALL NIGHT! i thought jeremie was gonna puke on her. oh man, i can't stop laughing, i'm crying. i hope she does it again this year.
