I don't know if you guys knew him, but Andrew Kirmse (a programmer with whom I worked on Starfighter) actually worked on both Google Maps and Google Desktop Search.

We were IMming recently about the fact that maps was showing up on the Today show and he said they could see identifiable spikes for a 2-3 minute period each hour that morning :)

i had an interview this morning and totally used this last night, it was spot on. way to go andrew kimse....so much better than mapquest or yahoo maps or msn maps, which are supremely inferior.

strangley, the same information is available on yahoo/mapquest maps and google maps, it is just that google presents it in such a clear way, that is seems to be so much more useful. It is just SO CLEAR where things are and how they relate, instead of having to constantly zoom in/out all the time.
