Monthly update for me as per Jeremie's earlier plea.
Where I've been and what I've been doing :
1. Xmas in Florida -
I recently got back from Florida where I spend Christmas with my family. Interesting trip which has too much to talk about and I'm too lazy to write it all. My mom wanted to have Christmas in Florida because since my grandma passed away last Feb. this would be the first Christmas my aunt would be alone for Xmas....so we headed to Florida to my aunts place to have Christmas with her. It was a good time, spent a lot of it drinking and watching movies and eating real bad but oh so good food. I really need to hit the gym (for health reasons...heheh).
2. Saw lots of movies (as stated above) Some key points -movies in the theatre...Narnia - not so good. King Kong - pretty damn good.
3. Worked a bit while everyone was on vaction, lots of productivity went on which was good. I'm looking forward to going back to work actually.
4. Played a bunch of World of Warcraft. Which was awesome. Now that Jeremie has it I'm even more excited to play. I love you Justin. You should get the game too and roll with us. We could be like some bad ass WoW crew or something. It's fun.
5. Did some work around my apt. It's almost all setup. This year I'll finish it up with a nice new TV and stereo system alone with some artwork and framed posters for the walls. Only have 1 box left to unpack and it wont' take long...but you know me...i'm lazy so who knows when that'll get done.
6. Chilled....did that as much as possible and it's been really nice. hahah...
7.
Went through a bunch of animation notes and prep'd for classes. I'm starting this winter semester to teach at an online animation school called Animation Mentor. I'm really excited for that. Hopefully I can pass on some good foundations/building block information and critiques for upcoming animators and already industry professionals. I'm sure I'll learn a lot too so I'm eager yet nervous about all that. Wish me luck.
That's about all i've been up to. How about what I hope to do for 2006.
1. Play my guitar more. (It's been neglected since my move)
2. Learn a whole bunch more about animation and not slack so much on it.
3. Get me a plasma TV or something cool like that for watching awesome movies at home.
4. Setup and go to a doctor about my bum shoulder, and while I'm at it hit up a dentist and optometrist while I'm doing the routine checkups.
5. Go snowboarding as much as I can this season.
6. Do some paintings/draw more
7. Make me some custom vinyl toys. 2 at least
8. Give my car so more love. It's been neglected for way too long.
9. Learn how to rip clips from DVD's so I can store them as reference footage. I would love to be able to do this but so far can't figure it out for the life of me.
9.5 Figure out what I'm going to do with my motorcycle. Sell it and get a newer one, or just sell it.
10. and lastly make a point to hang out and do fun stuff with friends more often.
*Phew* kay, I'm sure that list could go on and on but for now I'm spent. Happy New Year yalls.
I can't wait to start of world of warcraft... but I am waiting til I get back so I can make the most of my free two months, and I gotta get brett the referral freeness.
I forgot about the guitar, gotta get on that too.
Posted by: jeremie at January 1, 2006 9:37 PMwurd up. I'll give you the code and you can even get your first month free too i think. hurry up and get back.
Posted by: brett at January 1, 2006 11:27 PMholy shit! you forgot cure cancer and broker piece in the middle east!
i have to check out this WOW game.
be careful brett. train the animation newbies well, but not toooo well. you don't wanna turn out like the US military... training all the "new allies" with your own tactics, only to have them eventually turn on you and destroy everything you've worked for.
i'm so positive. hooray for drinking and hanging out with friends!
