Becky get your Dad on the phone!
Tell him Israel doesn't need Reuters help to look bad.
They can do it just as well on their own.

So Apparently this is for real? And he is a dude who has worked there for a while? Here is my theory on what happened...

"Hey man, check out this clone tool"
"Booyah dude, that is sweet."
"Man, I am gonna save this...Ooops, I hit save instead of save as..."

Cut to two hours later

"Dude, where are those photos"
"oh, yeah, let me just copy them to a disk"
"I'll send it down to a checker"
"Naw, man, you know what you are doing, just mail em to yahoo"

It’s a shame that the video was tagged with an aish.com banner. They are asking for neutrality, yet it is a REALLY Jewish website... I realize that journalistic integrity is totally brought into question in times of war, but: A) the source questioning it, should not be, nor sympathize with a conflicting party, B)apply their criticism by way of accusations of conflicting party sympathy, or C) Pose that contextually ambiguous images are something far differant or staged (citing the plush toys)

Yes, there is indeed reason to question the images, but where this video fails, is that it does not simply question the images; rather, it applies the interpretation that the images are to boost Hezbollah. For this reason, this video cannot, in my eyes be taken seriously. In fact, I think all signs point to clever propaganda...

intuitive interpretation justin. i agree in many ways. as for the photographer, i talked to dad about it. he said the photographer was well-regarded and had been with reuters for about 10 years. they're still investigating the images (obviously), b/c there has been industry wide conflicts with the subjects of images etc. some even having different initials and bi-lines for identical photos.

"they've made him out to be a towelhead with an AK-47 and a camera." - TFB

i also find it hard to believe that an established bureau photog would upload such crap, especially knowing an industry of experts might see the images. sleep deprivation? bribery? drunk?

good luck getting another gig buddy.
