Election is coming up. I need to figure out what I am voting on and what I am not. We have ballot measures here in california, so the masses get to decide on issues they know nothing about. Not only that, but they are written like an SAT test - in the most confusing way possible as to disguise what they are actually for or against.
For instance, how should I vote on the "Government Acquisition, Regulation of private property initiative constitutional amendment". I know I don't want them to take my land! oh wait, I rent.
On the other hand, how could I say no to the "$10 416 000 000 bond issue that will provide needed funding to relieve public school overcrowding and to repair older schools"? Wait, I don't have kids.
Do they have a "Make housing more affordable to twenty somethings bond act of 2006?", or the "Anti High Fructose Corn Syrup in all the shit we eat" proposed constitutional amendment?
Whats going on in your states?
Posted by jeremie at October 25, 2006 10:20 PMProvince? you mean Province right?
Municipals are going on up here. I get confused too.
I end up voting for the most "Green" candidate or whomever is going to legalize marijuana.
It doesn't seem to matter up here. Who ever get's the reins fucks it up anyway.
Its like we are living in the same place.
Posted by: jeremie at October 26, 2006 1:38 PMYou are voting Yes on 87. Seeming how Exxon Mobil is posting a $10.49B profit in 3Q. Make them pay for creation of alternative sources to oil. And no it won't make the gas go up in CA.
And there is an Imminent Domain thingie for 90 but I'm not sure if yes means no or no means yes.

Posted by: jeremie at October 27, 2006 12:13 PMhey rocco, if you're not shooting, we're having our annual cheesecake factory electoral dinner next monday...you're one of the founding fathers, you HAVE to be there.
you all should do it too. we're huge nerds and we study all of the amendments and figure out our voting scorecard as we gorge ourselves on massive portions and pumpkin cheesecake.
it's the american way.
