As Rocco said, I got engaged over the weekend!

I am so happy! I have been saving 3 years for this ring. Here is another picture of it.

Thanks guys! Well, I was going to propose next to an amazing river in Vail that Kristen and I hiked by a couple of years before. It is a very cool beautiful place where you can hear a pin drop if it wasn't covered in a blanket of snow. However, being the very smart gal that she is and more so me being a doof and probably acting really weird ... she figured it all out ... timeframe, setting, etc. etc. Great, now I am a huge retard, what do I do now? Ok, ok, I will take her to "Back to the Beach Cafe" where we had are first date only problem is that we would be in front of a fairly large group of people on the beach ... okay, that setting is out but maybe another beautiful beach called "Leo Carillo" where I took her for a picnic on her brithday one year. Sounds great ... I get it in my mind that, that would be the new spot. Saturday morning rolls around and we both take the cats out in our backyard like we normally do on the weekends. But, something about this day was a little different, the yard looked great and we have alot of white roses that really haven't done well until this year ... The sun was really nice and warm and it was really perfect. I went inside and got the ring from the hiding place and put it in my pocket and came outside. She was now seated on our firepit right next to the roses and it was very easy for me to get down on one knee and tell her how I felt about her and asked her to marry me. I was still insanely nervous and shakey but I felt very happy about the setting and time and what I said to her. We have made the backyard as sort of an escape from our normal lives and it is where we go to chill out and garden and hang we the cats. It is very relaxing. When she saw the ring a beautiful smile came across her face, and I knew I had made the right decision and caught her off guard. Now the other part of the story ... right after I proposed to Kristen, one of our daring cats named "Lucious" jumped the fence and I had to hug Kristen and run to the front yard to get him before he ran out into the street to get hit by a car ... Just the way things go ... ha ha

Ha ha, no date is set yet man ... baby steps man, baby steps. We will probably do a destination wedding like hawaii, mexico, or the like ... but, I am not sure of timeframe yet.

Yah, sounds like you did it right. If you try to plan something tooo "perfect" they can smell it a mile away.

What Mark didn't say was that due to the cat prison break he could not wait around for the answer to "Will you marry me?" because he was running down the street trying to catch the cats. Kristen on the other had been training the cats to react to Mark's knee bend and make a break for it. Brilliantly executed, the cats bolded, Kristen ran back into the house changed all the locks and lensed every light in the house off the ring to take out the russian spy satellite aimed at outer California.... oh do I long for the days of Alias......

hahaha, so fantastic!...well done mark - on the bauble and the setting. okay so these potential wedding dates would work poorly for me, as one of your very important guests. so if you could maybe shoot for some other dates, that'd be great!
