Last night loren, becky, brett and I went to this random show called the "Extra Action Marching Band" at 12 galaxies in SF. I had no idea what to expect, but the place was full of hipster kids. I had no idea, but the post-modern carnivale has its own "scene", and we weren't really a part of it.
They went on really late... way too late actually for it to be truly fun. I was already pretty much asleep, and the younger brett bailed because it was 1am and the crappy openning act would not finish up their set. But when they came out - all hell broke loose
About 10 minutes after brett left, the Marching band came on... The first impression was the best. Picture a half naked high school band - all kinds of drunk and messed up, waddling out onto a 20 by 10 foot stage. I mean, tubas, obo's, trumpets, etc. They sounded great, like a trippy carnivale act stuffed into a little itty bitty club.
Ah, you know what? Just check the video.
Posted by jeremie at February 11, 2007 6:10 PMwe got totally screwed on the half naked flag girls. DANG. Still totally worth it. Brett you missed out. Good things come to those who wait.
Posted by: loren at February 11, 2007 11:07 PMNow that would top Janet Jackson's half time show!
Posted by: rob at February 12, 2007 6:49 AM(warning...pg13 talk coming up) Hmmm, i see a FULLY naked girl every night of the week. Just cuz these girls in bikini's are dancing on a 10x10 ft stage behind some dood blowing his brains out on a tuba doesn't make me unlucky. Not worth the 3 hour wait IMO. Overrated show. At least at the Superbowl you get to watch football before girls start dance'n with tuba players around'm.
Posted by: brett at February 12, 2007 2:36 PMThere were no half naked girls to watch... it was all the rockin muzak that you missed...and our wonderful company.
Posted by: loren at February 13, 2007 9:30 PMhahaah, band kids gone wild. yesssss.
brett, you sound a bit defensive in your comment. let's be honest, we don't really care that you see a fully naked girl every day of the week...so that defense is LAME.
you missed out and now your regret it.
