jer got me an awesome 4-day glass flameworking workshop for my birthday this year. it's REALLY cool, a really great present. glass is a lot of fun - pretty tough, but inspiring. i've learned to make marbles several different ways, pendants, paperweights and today we started blowing glass. you can check out more photos if ya want: crucible workshop

thanks l! it's a lot of fun, for sure. pretty challenging though. the instructor went over like 10 techniques that will take years to master - it's a lot to absorb, but so cool!!! looks like i might have a new expensive hobby...

i chuckled at your tragically beautiful first attempt at blowing glass. my coworker really liked it...the asymmetry of it all. i thought it was like a glass blowing version of charlie brown's christmas tree. the key point being, i LOVE charlie brown's christmas tree. =D
