What's this you say.....Brett is posting? I know i know. Anyways, been a bit busy and lurking and didn't really feel motivated to post anything as of late. However I went to a show last night and was inspired. Erica's friend saw this band GHOSTLAND OBSERVATORY at ACL this year (big music festival in Austin Texas) and really liked them. She told us that if they ever came to our town we HAD to see them....and they did...so we went. Mind you I had no idea what this music was, never heard of them, saw them, nothing. It was like going into a movie you knew nothing about. No spoilers no nothing. Awesome. With that your either in for a terrible time, or you get a nice little golden surprise. Luckily I got a surprise. I don't really have any crazy story or anything like that, just wanted to pass along the feelings I had from the show. It was super happy, quasi emo, but very fun loving music and a lot of positive energy. So I'm passing along the recommendation to check them out if they ever come to your town.
Here's how they're described....Ghostland Observatory is not a band, but an agreement between two friends to create something that not only heals their beat-driven hearts, but pleases their rock ‘n roll souls. Taking the working man’s approach, Ghostland Observatory spend countless hours in their south Austin studio. They have released two albums in less than a year, and have moved audiences from coast to coast with their live performances and unique style. Ghostland Observatory is the duo of front man Aaron Behrens and producer/drummer Thomas Turner. Behrens’ vocal style and stage performances are unique and uncompromising, and he has drawn early comparisons to Freddie Mercury and Prince. Turner is heavily influenced by electronic artists such as Daft Punk, Laurent Garnier and Green Velvet, as well as rockers such as The Animals, David Bowie, and The Clash. With their spectral blend of electronics, drums, guitar and vocals, they have emerged with a sound that is the culmination of past influence and present inspiration, and can only be described as BALLSY. *taken from their myspace page*

the link has some music on there if your interested. If you watch any videos you might think they're a bit weird, funny, or maybe even awesome....but lemme tell you, when they played live it was soooooo awesome, def. worth the money paid for the tickets as far as musical entertainment goes.
Pass'n the buck. That is all.
