Goddamn I could use some Naan N Curry. But the curry's my ex housemate just brought back from India are doing the trick... made fish masalla and gonna do some tikka soon.

I will check out that music list. Agreed on the Pinback. You should get American Steel's latest Destry Their Future... SF boys and it's a fucking great album.

Miss you guys... hope you have a good holiday.

Okay, so I was only able to come up with a Top 3 list this year. I really struggled with this decision and set about to consider why. I certainly listened to a lot of music this year but ultimately felt let down. Lame follow-up albums, annoying hype-driven releases (read: Justice), and perhaps a slightly changing of my tastes, I feel, are to blame. Really though, there was a lack of "albums as statements" a proliferation of so-so albums and much better singles, EPs, and DJ mixes. No M83, no Knife, no Girl Talk this year. Who knows, maybe I just have a shorter attention span now.

Anyway, here it is, the tiny (but solid) Top 3.

1. The Field - "From Here We Go Sublime"
2. Burial - "Untrue"
3. Gui Boratto - "Chromophobia"

Honorable Mentions:

- Spank Rock - "Fabric Live 33"
- !!! - "Myth Takes"
- Digitalism - "Idealism"

And I agree, "No Country for Old Men" is hands down the year's best film.

Happy New Year Everyone!
k.

Mario Galaxy. I am obsessed with it right now. Also really liked the new Call o' Duty, but I have yet to get Windows on my Mac, so I haven't played half life yet. dangit.
