Are you shittin' me? Thank you Coen brothers. Very poignant. People can be shitty. The world is shitty. The End.
Blow out the pilot light and turn on the gas.
I'm just glad I didn't spend 15 bucks on this.
I know the Oscar world is going to go to town on this one. "Ooo deep" and shit like "gears mesh with thrilling exactitude" I think it's shit, in the same way crappy predictable movies are shit execpt the latter is kind enough to let you walkout/turn it off before you wasted what time you have left in this shitty world. If I want this I'll watch the news.
People forget the past. This has been done already.
Save your cash. Rent se7en. You'll feel just as shitty after but it has an ending.
I don't know what you were thinking Jer.
Man, that is some reaction. I actually really liked this movie too, but I guess it gets a strong reaction either way. Personally, I feel the same way about Rob Zombie movies. I would give the same advice about House of 1,000 Corpses.
Posted by: li_oz at January 28, 2008 9:43 AMHmmm, comparing No Country for Old Men and Seven? That's like comaring the Godfather to Three Men and a Baby.
Posted by: Henry Chinaski at January 28, 2008 1:52 PMWow Rob, I couldn't disagree more. The moment which Tommy Lee Jones decides to turn around walk out and retire is one of the most incredible moments I can think of in a movie. I felt like it said a lot about the current state of our world, and what "good people" are facing.
Yes, it is dark. Sorry about that, I should have warned you. I guess you won't like Cloverfield either.
I can't stand Rob Zombie's movies either. Agree. Love his music though :)
Posted by: jeremie at January 28, 2008 7:27 PMI just hate when justice is not done. Naive?
probably
I liked it. However I do agree I hated the ending. Hated it. The rest of the movie was great though, and i was in the front F'n row. ugg.
Cloverfield is one i'll def. wait for dvd...if i ever even see it. Bah
