| there is some sense in it all |

Its October 2008 - 10 ago was the beginning of our last year at Maryland Institute College of Art. I am finally taking an oil painting class this year which will hopefully lead to more artmaking altogether. I've been trying to focus mostly on palette management, and watching the teacher carefully mix so that I don't feel so overwhelmed by the apparent mess. Here is the first painting I felt like posting (my third in the class). Hopefully they will improve so I can continue to post em up.
Our teacher's name is Randy Sexton. We are getting the class through work which is great. It's too short - only a 2 hour session - but I guess it keeps me focussed and I get to bang out a painting every week. It makes me want to do a longer pose of something at home.
This one was created with four colors - black, white, crimson and ochre.
