Hopefully in a few weeks, we'll have some more pictures to show... but Becky bought me a beer kit for my birthday.

The day after Christmas I sat by the stove and boiled some 'fuggles' (a type of hops) mixed with some 'whirlfloo' - a clarifying agent, and 5 gallons of grain tea that will make us a good lot of amber beer.

By good lot, I mean 4 gallons or so. I have no idea how many bottles that is, but I am already commited to making 'Talbrew' labels using becky's gocco screen printer.

Ha - It is an airlock - partially filled with water. When the CO2 pressure gets too great, it bubbles through the air lock, but since the air pressure will never be greater than the pressure in the container, it won't go the other way - prevents spoiling and 'splodin:

That one is way less 'buttplug' looking than mine though.

I just finished the label for the beers... need to figure out how to get butcher paper to adhere to glass now.

I'll post it soon.
