Can't wait to get drunk off of sweet sweet no. 5.

If you don't have an account (and you aren't connected to me) you don't get to see all of them. I have taken to making a lot of photos private because I have become paranoid in my old age.

i took this pic in mendocino - an abandoned train in fort bragg.

I think the batch will make about 30 beers... so thirty labels shouldn't be that impossible to pull off. I forgot how much I like graphic design, and can't wait to do the next.

Sweet Amber is her name, after the bad Metallica song, and Number Five just happens to be the best number to start with, because number one would make it seem like either a) I am an egomaniac and think my beer is number 1, or b) that I am a n00b and shouldn't be giving beer out to drink anyway. Erm... yeah, maybe it should be number 1 after all...

Again thanks to Becky for this awesome gift. I can't wait to post a picture of Becky, Me, Erica, Mark, and Brett all drinking a few of these badboys. Sweet, Sweeet Amber.

Also note that I have no idea how much alcohol will be in these puppies. Maybe I should look up how to measure that. Or maybe not. Fuck it.

Beer Makin'

Hopefully in a few weeks, we'll have some more pictures to show... but Becky bought me a beer kit for my birthday.

The day after Christmas I sat by the stove and boiled some 'fuggles' (a type of hops) mixed with some 'whirlfloo' - a clarifying agent, and 5 gallons of grain tea that will make us a good lot of amber beer.

By good lot, I mean 4 gallons or so. I have no idea how many bottles that is, but I am already commited to making 'Talbrew' labels using becky's gocco screen printer.

I haven't been good at keeping up with talblog for too many reasons this year. Hopefully we can all post a little something once in a while to keep people up-to-date on what is going on.

I'll be posting some info on my first music compilation I have done in a long time. I won't be sending out cds this time, so I have to figure out how to get something good up to share.

I am so glad it is 2009! happy new yarrrrrr!
